It was an honor to have been chosen to represent the Miss Teen Canada International organization at the Miss Teen World International pageant in Bahamas. It was one of those special moments of a lifetime that I will always carry with me. I felt enormous pride in our country as Canada was so well received every where we traveled. To the many Canadians that I meet during the time I spend in Bahamas I say, “Thank You” you truly made me proud to represent you!
The opportunity to meet other teens from around the world was amazing. I have met many new friends that I will keep in touch with for years to come. The language barrier was minimal, as we realized that a smile and laughter are truly a Universal language. We had a wonderful time experiencing each others culture and especially in living the Bahamian culture. I had the opportunity to try new foods and enjoy many new experiences. Swimming with the dolphins and getting a huge hug from a Sea Lion are just a couple of examples. The people of the Bahamas welcomed us with open arms and cheered us on every where we went.
To Sylvia Stark and the Miss Teen Canada International organization I am eternally grateful. You have provided me with the opportunity of a lifetime! Your organization has once again enriched the life of a Canadian teen and provided the opportunity for Canada to be competitive on the international scene.
